         During the course of its history, the United States has taken foreign policy actions that have been consistent with the national interest. The Marshal plan provided a vivid example of how U.S. aid could serve the ends of both economic and foreign policy. The aid helped countries that desperately needed assistance. The prosperity it stimulated  then helped the American economy by increasing trades.          The U.S. became part of WW1 because they supplied Britain with its weapons and raw materials while they were supplying their weapons it was causing harm with dramatic numbers of deaths the U.S. ( Woodrow Wilson ) forced a progressive movement as it sought to bring reform and democracy to the world so people could have a freedom of speech and voting rights.
